Meet the speakers: 

 Joby George: is research nurse from India who is highly experienced in running clinical trials in many sectors. Joby is passionate about capacity development and runs many project to increase the engagement of nurses in research. He is a member of Clinical Research team of a tertiary care hospital of Northern India as Research nurse where he recognizes that his role is not seen by other nurses as nursing. It is this lack of recognition of his role in research that drives his engagement in capacity development
 

 Dr Jackeline Alger: I am a parasitologist working at the Department of Clinical Laboratory of the University Hospital in Tegucigalpa, the main public health hospital in Honduras. I am also a faculty member of the Research Unit of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras (UNAH). I am member of Instituto de Enfermedades Infecciosas y Parasitologia Antonio Vidal (IAV) board, a non-profit organization devoted to train, advice and conducting research in the field of infectious diseases. I have an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM). I am a member of the PAHO Advisory Committee on Health Research. I combine clinical laboratory, teaching and research activities, with mentoring grade and postgraduate students and faculty members doing research for health, building intersectoral bridges and promoting international collaboration and networking to advance scientific research in Honduras.
 

 Prof. Morenike Ukpong: Morenike Ukpong-Folayan is a researcher with the with over 15 years with 122 peer-reviewed journal publications to her credit. She has also published extensively on ethical considerations in the design and implementation of clinical trials during the Ebola emergency in West Africa. She also works as the Deputy Director of the College of Health Sciences’ Partnership and Research Advancement Unit and Coordinates the Research and Innovation Support Unit. She has experience in designing, implementing and reporting both qualitative and quantitative studies for research; conducting monitoring and evaluation exercises for both general and key populations programs; and advocating for use of research outcomes for policy formulation and programming in the field of HIV, bioethics and adolescents health in Nigeria. Recently, her work on adolescent sexual, reproductive health and rights, and gender justice led to changes in policy and programs for adolescents living with HIV in Nigeria.
